The longest-running Halloween parade in the Kansas City area is marching on this year.
The 74th Annual Independence Halloween Parade, organized by the Independence Chamber of Commerce, takes place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 29 in Independence, MO.
Each year, several thousand spectators attend the parade. The parade floats include school marching bands, community organizations, dance studios, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles, tractors, classic cars and creative costumes.
FYI – Candy is not thrown at this parade.
Independence Halloween Parade Route
PLEASE NOTE: The following information is for last year’s parade. We’ll update with 2022 parade details as soon as we have them available.
The parade rolls through the historic Independence Square starting at 10 a.m.
The processions starts on Walnut Avenue near Pleasant Street and goes east to Main Street. At Main Street, it goes north for two blocks, then west for three blocks on Lexington Avenue, back to Spring.
At that point, the parade turns north on Spring and goes several blocks (past Truman Road), then veers to the northwest on Bess Truman Parkway and ends at McCoy Park.
