Who says you’ve got to be a kid (or rich) to enjoy Halloween fun in Kansas City?
We’ve put together this list of free and cheap Halloween parties and events for adults in Kansas City so you can have some scares and thrills without frightening prices.
Some of these Halloween events are in bars so you have to be at least 21+ for the thrills and chills. Others are performances and activities that are fun for adults but will welcome kids of a certain age.

Kansas City Halloween Parties and Events for Adults
The Beast and Edge of Hell and Macabre Cinema
October 15-31 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings)
Location: West Bottoms, Kansas City, MO
Hours: Times vary
Admission: $40 and above
Experience one or both award-winning, professional-level haunted houses: The Beast and The Edge of Hell. Kids 12+ can go through the haunted houses if accompanied by an adult.
Worlds of Fun Halloween Haunt
September 19 through October 31, 2026
Location: Worlds of Fun
Hours: Park hours vary; Haunt starts at 6:30 p.m.
Admission: Tickets start at $50.99
When the sun goes down, little ones are ushered out of Worlds of Fun and this popular Kansas City attraction becomes a haunted and frightening landscape known as Halloween Haunt.
Exiled Trail of Terrors & Twisted Carnival
October 23-25 and 29-31, 2026
Location: ZipKC, Bonner Springs, KS
Hours: 7 p.m. to at midnight
Admission: $40 (Fridays), $50 (Saturdays). Carnival admission is free.
Kids can come to this scary outdoor haunted house-type activity, but they need to be at least 12 years old. Exiled Trail of Terrors is a horror-filled hike in the woods within Bonner Springs, KS.
1859 Jail Ghost Tours and Ghost Hunts
October 9-31, 2026 (selected nights)
Location: 1859 Jail Museum, Independence, MO Square
Hours: Tour times vary by type and evening
Admission: $30 to $70
Experience history and haunting during three different types of Halloween experiences at the 1859 Jail Museum on the square in Independence, MO. Kids are welcome at the tours but it’s not recommended for any under the age of 7.
The Rocky Horror Show LIVE
October 9-31, 2026 (select nights)
Location: Grand Theatre at Crown Center, Kansas City, MO
Hours: 8 p.m. along with a limited number midnight showings
Admission: $30
The world’s favorite rock ‘n’ roll musical, The Rocky Horror Show, is back live in Kansas City just in time for Halloween.
Electric Poe
October 22-25 and October 30-November 1, 2026
Location: Union Cemetery, 227 E. 28th Terr, Kansas City, MO 64108.
Hours: Shows are at 6:30 p.m., except for November 1, which starts at 5:30 p.m.
Admission: Single tickets range from $15 to $29
Live theatrical readings of Edgar Allen Poe classics are brought to live by the Coterie Theatre at the historic Union Cemetery in the Union Hill neighborhood during Electric Poe. Kids can be part of this Halloween event but should be ages 10+.
Most of the chair and blanket spaces for this event are already sold out, but some standing room options remain.
Alexander Majors House Ghost Tours
October 30, 2026
Location: Alexander Majors House Museum – Kansas City, MO
Hours: Audio guided tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission: $5 for children and $10 for adults
This touches on stories of ghostly sightings at this historical venue with a reputation of being one of the most haunted locations in Kansas City.
End of Days Halloween Party
October 31, 2026
Location: KC Live, at the Power & Light District in Kansas City, MO
Hours: Starting at 6 p.m.
Admission: Tickets start at $35 with fees
Must be 21+ to party at CarnEVIL in the Power & Light District during this annual Halloween celebration.
Terror at Electric Park
October 31, 2026
Location: J. Rieger & Co., Kansas City, MO
Hours: 9 p.m.
Dress in a terrifying costume contest for a chance to win prizes at J. Rieger & Co.’s Halloween celebration in the Electric Park Garden Bar. Categories include best couple’s costume and best costume overall.
Admission is free.
Mike Kelly’s Westsider Dance Into the Day of the Dead with KC Bones
October 31, 2026
Location: Mike Kelly’s Westsider, Kansas City, MO
Hours: 8 p.m.
This Westport-based Halloween party includes a costume contest with prizes and music. Cover charge is $15 at the door.
