Every Friday and Saturday night in October the Jackson Co. Historical Society, Dusk 2 Dawn Paranormal, and Pioneer Trails Adventures are hosting Ghost Tours at the 1859 Jail in Independence, MO.
Spend 45 minutes touring the jail, Marshal’s Home and Museum, then take a spooky covered wagon ride around the Independence Square. This experience is not a jump-out-and-scare-you activity, but you will learn about the grisly history of the 1859 Jail and Independence Square, as well as some of the ghosts who haunt the place.
This event is not recommended for kids under 7.
Tours start at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. on the following weekends (Friday and Saturday):
- Oct. 2-3
- Oct. 9-10
- Oct. 16-17
- Oct. 23-24
- Oct. 30-21
The event has sold out four years in a row. Tickets must be purchased in advance, they won’t be available at the door.
Kids (7-16): $20
A portion of the proceeds benefit the Jackson Co. Historical Society.
