The Kansas City Zoo invites you to Hoots and Howls for spooky, not scary activities the first four weekends of October.
You get to enjoy all the Hoots and Howls fun for FREE with your paid admission when you visit the Kansas City Zoo on any of the following days.
Hoots and Howls activities are from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on most weekends and are designed to be fun for kids, not scary. Please know that the final weekend of Hoots and Howls begins at 10 a.m.
Kansas City Zoo visitors joining Hoots and Howls fun get a chance to take part in a dance party with DJ music, pumpkin toss, photo ops and more fall activities.
The zoo animals will join in the festivities with pumpkin enrichment activities throughout the weekend.
KC Zoo Hoots & Howls Themes
Each weekend features a different Hoots and Howls theme.
October 1-2: Beastly Bash. Animal costumes encouraged for this animal-themed weekend of fun at the zoo.
October 8-9: Friends of the Force. The 501st Legion is at the KC Zoo during this weekend of galaxy fun.
October 15-16: Fall Fun. Seasonal fun is set up for the whole family.
October 22-23: Ghostbusters. The Midwest Ghostbusters are meeting guests and scaring out ghosts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged.
Halloween fun at the Kansas City Zoo closes with trick-or-treating during Boo at the Zoo October 29-30.

Kansas City Zoo Parking and Location
The Kansas City Zoo is in Swope Park with easy access from I-435 and 71 highways at 6800 Zoo Drive, Kansas City, MO.
Parking is always FREE at the Kansas City Zoo. There is a drop-off zone located directly in front of the Zoom’s admission area.
The #18 Indiana bus stops at the front entrance of the Zoo seven days a week during normal hours of operation. Find more information about bus schedules on the RideKC.org website.
