Dog lovers in Kansas City are invited to join the fun at Dogtober Fest, an outdoor dog-friendly festival featuring tons of activities for dogs and their people.

Jackson County Parks and Recreation is hosting Dogtober Fest on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kemper Outdoor Recreation Education Center in Fleming Park, Blue Springs, MO.
Admission is FREE with a donation of dry or canned dog food. Donations benefit the Lee’s Summit Animal Shelter and other Kansas City area animal shelters and rescue groups.
Dogtober Fest Activities
The day is filled with booths, food trucks, vendors, a Halloween costume contest, a Frisbee-catching contest, games, dog adoption and more. Some activities require pre-registration and include a fee.
Free activities with no pre-registration required include:
- Vendor Booths: Breed clubs, rescue groups and a vendors are showcasing an array of dog-related products and services.
- Demonstrations: Watch dogs in action as they work (water rescue, K9search) and play (frisbee catch, agility).
- Contests and Games: There’s plenty of fun and competition, including bobbing for biscuits and a Halloween costume contest.
Tickets are required for dog competitions, activities and clinics. Dogs can take part in a variety of activities. Day-of sign ups are $7 for one ticket, $12 for two tickets and addition tickets for $4 each.
