FREE Halloween Songs & Stories at KC Rep Ghost Light

The Kansas City Repertory Theatre combines music and ghost stories continuing the Kansas City Halloween tradition of Ghost Light. This year’s event is FREE to the public.

Ghost Light: A Haunted Night of Songs and Stories from KC’s Cultural Crossroads is an outdoor story experience taking place in the dark woods of Roanoke Park. Under the stars in the dark of night participants will hear local tales of spirits, hauntings and the great unknown from Kansas City’s cultural crossroads.

The Ghost Light experience is recommended for those 8+.

Costumes are encouraged for Ghost Light.

KC Rep Ghost Light Performance Schedule

This year’s Ghost Light performances are scheduled for Friday, October 21 and Saturday October 21, 2022.

Friday, October 21 Schedule of Events:

5:30 p.m.: Grounds open; food trucks available

7:30 – 9:30 p.m.: Ghost Light performance

Saturday, October 22 Schedule of Events:

The Saturday, October 22 performance includes some special all-ages activities before the performance begins.

4 p.m.: Grounds open; food trucks available

4:30 – 7 p.m.: Ghost Light Arts Engagement (all ages); includes Ghost Light orchestra, mask making and luminary making.

7 – 7:30 p.m.: Haunted Parade (all ages)

7:30 – 9:30 p.m.: Ghost Light performance

KC Rep Ghost Light Tickets

Ghost Light is a FREE event in 2022. While tickets are FREE, RSVPs are appreciated for planning purposes.

Seating is general admission on a grass lawn that is ADA accessible.

You’ll want to bring your own chair or blanket. Seating begins one hour before the performance.

KC Rep Ghost Light Location & Parking

Previously held on the lawn of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Ghost Light is hosted in 2022 at Roanoke Park across from 3612 Karnes Boulevard in mid-town Kansas City, MO.

FREE parking is available for Ghost Light on the lots of the Westport Roanoke Community Center and surrounding area. Bike racks are also available in the community center lot.
