If you’re in the mood to listen to some live jazz music, here are some places in Kansas City where you can do so for free (you will need to buy drinks and/or food, of course). Click on the links below to see who’s performing and at what time.

The Blue Room: Free live jazz on Monday and Thursday nights except for special events. There’s a $10 cover charge on Friday and Saturday night.
The Broadway Jazz Club: Free live jazz Wednesday through Saturday except for special events.
The Corbin Theatre: Free live jazz on the first Monday of every month (excluding holidays) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Danny’s Big Easy: Free live music on select afternoons/evenings. There’s a $5 cover charge after 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Gaslight Grill: Free live jazz nightly Wednesday through Sunday.
Green Lady Lounge: Free live jazz seven nights a week.
Hotel Phillips: Free live jazz on Saturdays from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m.
Jazz: A Louisiana Kitchen: Free live jazz Friday through Sunday (although the menu prices are slightly higher when the bands are playing).
The Kill Devil Club: Free live jazz on Friday and Saturday.
Mutual Musicians Foundation: Free live jazz on Friday and Saturday nights from midnight until the early morning hours.
The Phoenix: Free live jazz nightly Monday through Thursday. There’s a $5 cover charge after 4:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
