The Kansas City Zoo invites you to Hoots and Howls for spooky, not scary activities the first three weekends of October 2019. You get to enjoy all the Hoots and Howl fun for FREE with your paid zoo admission.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include a hay bale maze, pedal tractors, singing with an interactive DJ, carousel rides, arts & crafts and more.
The zoo animals join the fun with pumpkin smashing throughout the weekends. On Saturday, orangutans will smash pumpkins at 10 a.m. followed by chimpanzees at 1 p.m. and gorillas at 1:39 p.m. On Sunday, pumpkin smashes are at hippo at 11 a.m., elephant at 11:30 a.m., and rhino at 1 p.m.
Each weekend features a theme and special guests for photo opportunities.
- Oct. 5-6: Meet princesses
- Oct. 12-13: Meet characters from the Land of Oz
- Oct. 19 -20: Meet characters from a galaxy far, far away
