The well-known Kansas City haunted houses are keeping a long-running Halloween tradition alive in the West Bottoms this year.

The Beast Haunted House

The Beast Haunted House returns with fan favorites including voodoo, a live alligator, werewolves, phantoms, and monsters. This medieval time warp goes to the era when an eye for an eye was practiced and exposes the barbaric Beast within the man.

This journey is through four floors of an open format where the Beast is scaring up fun. By purchasing the “Beast Jump” ticket, you can escape at the end through a four-story chute slide or jump from a two-story window opening.

The Edge of Hell Haunted House

The Edge of Hell is a multi-story haunted house preying on phobias and fears. Visitors exploring will run into a live snake of record-breaking length, rat man, vampires and the devil himself.

Macabre Cinema Haunted House

Macabre Cinema haunted house is a West Bottoms haunted house favorite gives visitors scares and thrills as they walk through a haunted 1930s move theatre.

The Beast, Edge of Hell & Macabre Cinema Schedule

Here are the haunting dates for Kansas City’s West Bottoms haunted houses.

The Beast and The Edge of Hell: Open Friday and Saturday nights September 16 – November 5. The Beast and Edge of Hell are also open on Halloween (Monday, October 31).

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Closing times vary for both haunted houses so come early.

Macabre Cinema: Open Friday and Saturday nights September 30 – October 22 and Sunday, October 23. Doors open at 7 or 8 p.m., depending on the specific weekend.

The Beast, The Edge of Hell & Macabre Cinema Admission

Kansas City haunted houses admission listed for the 2022 season do NOT include tax or service fees applied to each individual ticket purchased online.

Single Tickets: $27 gets you into either The Beast, The Edge of Hell or Macabre Cinema. You choose one attraction, on any open night. For $57 you can skip the line and enter as a VIP to whichever haunted house you choose.

VIP Add-On: If you purchase your ticket and decide later you would like to have VIP status to skip the line, you can add this on to an already-purchased ticket for $30.

The Beast Jump: The Beast Haunted House offers two escape options, one by jumping out of a two-story window. This thrill is $10 in addition to regular admission.

Combo Tickets: A $45 combo ticket can be purchased that will let you into two of the three haunted houses. This is $9 cheaper than buying two single attraction tickets. For $105 you can skip the line for both haunted houses and enter as a VIP.

Triple Haunt Pass: Experience all three of these Kansas City haunted houses for $65. For $125 you can skip the line and go through each one as a VIP.

Tips for the Best KC Haunted House Experience

Here is helpful information and recommendations to make sure you enjoy your scary experience at The Beast, The Edge of Hell or Macabre Cinema haunted houses in Kansas City.

Lines: Entrance lines often start forming 30 minutes before opening time, but sometimes begin earlier on Friday and Saturdays in October. Thursdays and Fridays generally have shorter lines.

Age Restrictions: Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult through The Beast, The Edge of Hell or Macabre Cinema haunted houses.

What to Wear: Wear sensible shoes. Some of the haunted house areas are uneven so sandals or flip flops are not recommended.

Not Allowed: No pets, weapons or alcohol are allowed on the grounds. Here are the things you cannot bring inside any of the haunted houses. No cameras, smoking, laser pointers, flashlights, food or beverages. Don’t touch the ators or the props.

The Experience: Know that these haunted houses include strobe lights, loud noises, fog, clowns, chainsaws, live animals and a variety of other ways to scare you. You can leave any of the attractions early if you get too scared, but refunds are not provided.
