Can you believe it’s time for Christmas tree and holiday lighting ceremonies in Kansas City?

We’re putting them all in one place again to make it easier to find the ones you want to go see. There’s everything from the Plaza Lighting Ceremony, the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting at Crown Center, the Holiday Kickoff at Union Station to smaller local events happening throughout Kansas City.

As with so many things this year, some of these traditional events look different. Some aren’t happening at all while others are flipping the switch virtually or in some other health and safe way. Read our posts for details.

Leawood Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting
Location: City Hall
Time: 6 p.m.
Includes: Holiday caroling, refreshments, and more.

Friday, November 22

Lee’s Summit Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting
Location: Downtown Lee’s Summit
Time: 6 p.m.
Santa’s visiting and stores will be open late for holiday shopping.

North Kansas City Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting
Location: North Kansas City City Hall
Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Refreshments, entertainment, Santa photos and more at this holiday event.

Saturday, November 23

Union Station Holiday Lighting Ceremony
Location: Union Station (Grand Plaza)
Time: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Holidays come alive at grand Union Station.

Northern Lights Holiday Lighting Ceremony
Location: Zona Rosa
Time: 4 to 6 p.m.
Santa and a 50-foot Christmas tree are highlights of this holiday event.

Gladstone Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting
Linden Square

A festive mix of caroling, Santa’s visit and ice skating.

Raymore Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting
Location: T.B. Hanna Station
Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Santa’s coming for this annual tree lighting celebration.

Wednesday, November 27

Christmas in the Sky
Location: Longview Lake Beach
Time: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A festive stage show with holiday-themed fireworks.

Thursday, November 28

Plaza Lighting Ceremony
Location: Country Club Plaza
Time: 5 to 8 p.m.
A must-see Kansas City holiday tradition.

Friday, November 29

KCMO Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting
Location: Crown Center
Time: 5:30 p.m.
At 100 feet, this is one of the nation’s tallest Christmas trees.

Monday, December 2

Belton Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting
Location: Memorial Station
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the Belton Welfare Association.

Friday, December 6

Merriam Mayor’s Tree Lighting
Location: Merriam Marketplace/Irene B. French Community Center
Time: 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the Johnson County Multi-Service Center.

Saturday, December 7

Hometown Holidays
Location: Downtown Liberty
Time: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All day festive activities including Santa and a tree lighting.

Shawnee Christkindlmarkt
Location: City Hall/Downtown Shawnee
Time: 2 to 6 p.m.
Fun starts in the afternoon and concludes with a tree lighting and Santa.
