Celebrate the Holidays at Shawnee's Christkindlmarkt

This annual holiday event, formerly known as Christmas Around Town, is FREE and has something for the entire family to enjoy.

Christkindlmarkt happens in downtown Shawnee on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Festivities start at 2 p.m. at Shawnee City hall, 11110 Johnson Drive. Downtown Shawnee businesses will be open with individual specials. Activities include:

Sister Cities Christkindlmarkt (Christmas market)
Live entertainment
Crafts for the kids
Fruit cake races
Balloon artists
Live reindeer
Food trucks
Carolers
Face painting
Santa visits

At 5:30 p.m., Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will present the Mayor’s Christmas Tree fund and turn on the tree lights.

Parking and Street Closures for Shawnee Christkindlmarkt

Parking will be available around City Hall, the Sister Cities Park and at Splash Cove.

From 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., a stretch of Johnson Drive between Nieman road and King Street will be closed. There will be marked detours during the closure.
