Tropical Cocktails Featured at Kansas City Sippin’ Santa Pop-Up Bar

Coconut, rum and beach parties don’t usually come to mind when you think of Santa Claus, but delicious tropical cocktails may convince you that Kris Kringle really is (or should be) a beach bum.

Julep, the Westport bar specializing in whiskey drinks, is playing host to the nationwide Christmas-meets-tiki pop-up bar concept Sippin’ Santa. Enjoy holiday décor, themed drinks and a festive atmosphere.

A couple of beverage options you can expect to see on the menu are:

Kris Kringle Colada: Dark Jamaican Rum, Cynar, Allspice, Lime and Pineapple Juice and Cream of Coconut
Christmas Eve of Destruction: Dark Overproof Rum, Herbal Liqueur, Nutmeg Syrup, Lime Juice and Angostura Bitters

You can belly up to the bar at Sippin’ Santa at Julep Nov. 25-Dec. 31, 2019. Hours are:

Monday-Friday: 3 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Saturday: Noon to 1:30 a.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. to midnight

Sippin’ Santa at Julep has no cover charge. No reservations needed, as it’s first-come, first-served.

The big guy has got a schedule to keep and here are some good times on the calendar at Sippin’ Santa at Julep.

Dec. 15 Sippin’ Santa Brunch: A kid-friendly brunch with Santa. Doors open at 10 a.m. Brunch is served along with a visit from Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dec. 22 Sippin’ Santa Brunch: Same thing that’s being hosted the week before.

Dec. 31 Sippin’ Santa NYE: The Last Luau: Say aloha to 2019. No cover and there will be a complimentary champagne toast to ring in the new year.
