On Sundays during the month of April, the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens hosts Kite Fest on the Priarie. It’s a chance to experience the wide open space of the prairie at the Arboretum.
Bring along your own kite or buy one at the Arboretum.
Admission is FREE, but you will pay $5 per car to park. Parking for Kite Fest is done on the prairie. The entrance is south of 179th and Antioch. There will be signs up to guide you.
After flying kites, your $5 parking fee also lets you enjoy the other parts of the Arboretum so make a full day of it.
Kite Fest on the Prairie runs from noon to 4 p.m. on the following days:
- April 5
- April 12
- April 19
- April 26
