Free Fireworks Display and Festival in Lee’s Summit

Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation invites the community to the city’s annual Legacy Blast, a free Independence Day celebration on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Legacy Park.

A full evening of DJ entertainment will precede the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. The show will be synchronized to music and simulcast on 94.9 KCMO.

The gates will open at 5 p.m. and close at 9 p.m. or when the park reaches capacity, which has been as early as 8:15 p.m. some years. You might want to bring a blanket or chairs.

If the weather is bad, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 5.

Legacy Park Community Center is located at 901 NE BlueStem Drive in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
