Celebrate the 4th of July like it’s 1855!
On July 4, 2026, Kansas City Parks & Recreation hosts Independence Day at Missouri Town 1855. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Experience what life was like in the late 1800s. Activities include patriotic speeches, period cooking, dancing, children’s games, and more in this mid-19th century village.
All visitors are invited to march in the Missouri Town Independence parade at noon.

All Independence Day activities are included in regular admission prices:
- Adults: $8
- Kids (5-13) and seniors: $4
- Kids (under 5): FREE
KC Getout passes, formerly known as Pogo Pass, are accepted at this event.
