Prepare yourself for this summer’s Off the Wall Film Series, a lineup of FREE outdoor movies hosted in downtown Kansas City on the Central Library Rooftop Terrace.
Every third Friday, May through September, doors open at 8 p.m. Screenings start at approximately 8:45 p.m.
Bring along blankets, folding chairs as well as your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Please skip the glass containers.
Off the Wall Film Series Schedule 2026
This summer, the Off the Wall Film Series theme is Summer on the Sidelines. This year’s Summer Reading Program theme is Road, Score, Roar! in honor of the World Cup soccer matches in Kansas City. But the movie series takes the opposite tack, focusing on those who couldn’t or didn’t want to make the team.
Here is the schedule:
July 17: Diary of a Wimpy Kid
August 21: Napoleon Dynamite
September 18: Twilight
In the event of bad weather, the film may be moved indoors or is cancelled.
Central Library Location & Parking
The Central Library is the main library of the Kansas City Public Library system and is located at 14 W 10th St, Kansas City, MO. The Rooftop Terrace is on the fifth floor.
Parking is available in the Library District parking garage at 10th and Baltimore. Bring your parking ticket inside for validation. Don’t forget you can take the KC Streetcar to the Library stop at 9th and Main.
