Know a few people in your office, neighborhood or family you’d like to punch in the throat?
Local author Jen Mann says (and writes) the things so many of us want to say in her witty, best-selling books and popular blog People I Want to Punch in the Throat.
Jen is promoting her latest anthology I Just Want to Hang Out With You at a book signing event from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill (6601 W. 135th Street, Overland Park, KS).
There’s no better time to brush your hair, put on whatever stretch pants (hopefully) still fit and head out for the evening.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online. You’ll get a signed copy, appetizers and a lot of laughs. There will also be a cash bar and music by DJ Stann.
Jen’s other books (I Just Want to Pee Alone, Working with People I Want to Punch in the Throat, But Did You Die, Spending the Holidays with People I Want to Punch in the Throat and more) will also be available for purchase. Cashless payment is preferred.
All sales are final. If you’re not able to find pants that fit or some other chaos prevents you from coming, the book will be signed and shipped to you.
A few things about being cool and staying safe.
This event is being held in a large outdoor space with limited attendance. Check the weather forecast and consider bringing a jacket in case you get cold. Otherwise, you’ll need to drink more wine to stay warm.
Everyone needs to wear a mask and space out. Space out as in don’t physically bunch up together. You can let you mind wander for miles and stare off into space as much as you want, so long as you are wearing a mask and not getting too close to others.
If a line starts to form, please remain spaced out and be patient. Wine at the cash bar will help you pass the time.
