Spookfest at Science City

Science City is holding its annual Spookfest Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026. Tickets are $17.25 for non-members. Union Station member get in free.

This event includes spooky science demos and activities, eerie edibles, a Spooktacular Science stage show, costume contests for different age groups, creepy critters, and more.

Daytime activities, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. include crafting jumping spiders and wearable Boo Buddies, building candy catapults, watching chemical lab experiments, exploring anatomy and deep-sea creatures, and participating in movement challenges.

The event also include:

• The Great Pumpkin Drop: 11 a.m. 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Simple Machines at Play.
• Planetarium Laser Shows: (Additional ticket required) Laser Spooktacular and Laser K-Pop Demon Hunters at 1 and 3 p.m.
• Spooky Stage Show: 4:15 p.m. at Maze Park.
• Costume Contest: 4:45 p.m. at Maze Park with categories for all ages and groups.

The event hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Union Station Location and Parking

Union Station is located at 30 West Pershing Road in Kansas City, Missouri. Parking is available in two nearby lots and a parking garage. Rates range from $5-$15. You can also ride the KC Streetcar. There’s a stop right out front of Union Station.
