The magic of the holidays come to life in Merriam with the flip of a switch.
Mayor Ken Sissom will do the honors at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 at the Irene French Community Center. There will be food, live music, games, activities and Santa’s visit.
Attendees can bring a new toy or canned food item or pay $1 admission. All items will be donated to the Johnson County Multi-Service Center.
