What Is Kegs ’n’ Eggs?
Kegs ’n’ Eggs is a grown-ups-only spring event that blends an old-school egg hunt with a lively party atmosphere at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival grounds. Thousands of eggs are spread across the property, and participants can hunt for candy, prize tickets, cash and surprise giveaways.
Beyond the hunt itself, the event also includes access to a craft beverage festival atmosphere with beer, wine and mead for eligible ticket holders, plus food vendors, contests, shopping and themed activities throughout the afternoon.
Kegs ’n’ Eggs is a good one to watch early for next year. Ticket prices were lower earlier in the sales cycle before increasing closer to the event, and select add-ons like the Calm Egg Hunt and Egg Hunt in a Bag were only offered for a limited time and were no longer available by the time this post was being prepared.

Tips for This Year and Savings to Watch for Next Year
Kegs ’n’ Eggs has a few event details that are helpful to know before you go, and it is also a good one to keep on your radar for future years if you like to catch the lowest pricing and optional add-ons when they first open.
- Arrive early: Even though the main hunt begins at 1:00 PM, registration and pre-party activities start earlier, so arriving ahead of the rush can make parking and check-in much smoother.
- Bring your actual ID: This is a 21-and-over event, and guests should bring a valid physical driver’s license or ID for check-in.
- Dress for the weather: The event is promoted as rain or shine, so comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are a smart choice.
- Choose the ticket that fits best: Alcohol sampling is only included with select ticket types, while non-alcohol tickets still include event access and select perks.
- Watch for early pricing next year: This event offered lower early bird pricing before rates increased closer to the event date, so planning ahead may help you save.
- Some optional add-ons were limited-time offers: Extras like the Calm Egg Hunt and Egg Hunt in a Bag were offered earlier in the sales cycle and were no longer available by the time this post was being prepared, so those are worth watching for early if the event returns next year.
