The Sizzlin’ Summer Book Sale is here. From June 26 to June 29, the Friends of Johnson County Library will sell more than 60,000 gently-used books and audiovisual materials at bargain prices.
I love this event. Reading is one of my biggest hobbies but I don’t like paying a lot of money for books. Since most items are sold for $2 or less, it doesn’t matter if I get some pool water on the pages or the sun softens the spine. Plus, all sales benefit the library.
This year’s sale is in a new location: The Lackman Building, 15345 W 87th St Parkway, Lenexa, KS. This is the former Lackman Library and offers ample parking that is, of course, FREE.
Friends of Johnson County Library members get first crack at the selection (hmmm….maybe a reason to join)? If you think so, you can sign up here. Memberships start at $10.
