There’s a FREE and easy way many Kansas City, Missouri residents can mark the occasion of Arbor Day by planting a tree or two.
Bridging the Gap, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and Arbor Day Foundation, is giving away FREE trees to residents in select Kansas City, Missouri neighborhoods. If you live in one of the eligible zip codes (most areas south of the Missouri River and inside the I-435 loop) you can receive up to two FREE trees per household.
You must register here to receive the tree and confirm eligibility. Once you’re registered, a Bridging the Gap staff member will contact you to arrange a time for you to pick up your trees. Tree pick-ups will be done by appointment only to ensure social distancing.
Planted in the right place, trees provide lots of benefits including decreasing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing energy consumption, improving air quality and increasing property values.
Supplies of the FREE trees are limited so register now. Available trees include:
- American Sycamore
- Baldcypress
- Bur Oak
- Northern Red Oak
- River Birch
- Yellowwood
