Free Historic Howl-o-Ween Party at Wornall House Museum

The John Wornall House Museum celebrates the historic connection between pets and families with a dog-friendly Halloween party and costume contest for dogs. 

Historic Howl-o-Ween happens on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the John Wornall House Museum in Kansas City, MO. Bring the whole family for Halloween fun. 

Dogs need to be leashed and socialized to take part. 

Outdoor Howl-o-Ween events are FREE. Pre-registration is requested, but not required. 

Dog-friendly activities, vendors and demonstrations are featured during the day. 

Dog Costume Contest: Dress your dog(s) in festive Halloween attire and participate in the Halloween parade and costume contest. All participants receive a doggy trick-or-treat bag. 

Prizes are awarded for the following categories: 

• Best in Show Costume
• Best Historical Costume
• Crown Favorite Costume

Dog Costume Parade: Let everyone see your dog’s costume. The dog parade begins at 3:15 p.m.

Wornall House Location and Parking

The John Wornall House is located at 6115 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64113.

The Wornall House has FREE parking in a small parking lot located on the east side of the house. Additional FREE street parking is available on 61st Terrace.
