Art and barbecue. Sounds like a winning combination to me!
This Friday and Saturday, September 16-17, 2011, the Mission Convention and Visitors Bureau will be holding its annual Mission Arts & Eats Festival at the Sylvester Powell Jr. Community Center. Admission is free.
At the same time and place as the Arts & Eats Festival, there will also be a Battle of the Brisket State Championship going on, which is a BBQ contest sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society.
The Arts & Eats Festival includes:
- An art show
- Live music
- Food and craft vendors
- Inflatables
- A pancake breakfast
- A barbecue contest
