Friends in Service of Heroes are hosting a FREE Armed Forces Day celebration on April 23.

Starting at 9 a.m. the public can explore military aircraft and vehicles on display, enjoy live bands and meet Veterans, including members from the 2019 film Above the Best.
Admission is FREE. The gate entrance is located at 280 Gardner Drive, New Century, KS.
Public parking for the event is available at 600 New Century Parkway, New Century, KS.
According to the Department of Defense website, President Harry S. Truman helped establish Armed Forces Day as a single holiday to come together and thank the country’s military members for their service. On Aug. 31, 1949 Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of Armed Forces Day to be celebrated annually the third Saturday of May.
