Fair season in Kansas City continues and the Missouri State Fair should be on the top of your list for local summer fun.
The Missouri State Fair is one of the oldest fairs in Missouri beginning in 1901. Grab the family and head down to Sedalia to enjoy the fun from August 11-21, 2022.
Enjoy carnival rides and games, kids’ activities, live music and entertainment, contests, fair food, agricultural showcases and more.
Missouri State Fair Admission
There are multiple admission options for the Missouri State Fair.
Advance Admission Tickets
Discount single day adult tickets can be purchased for $10 ($2 savings) through Aug. 10 at the Missouri State Fair Box Office and participating Break Time Convenience Stores and Orscheln Farm & Home Stores.
Exhibitor Admission Tickets
Exhibitors can purchase special admission tickets when participating in shows and contest at the Missouri State Fair.
These tickets are $6 for daily admission and must be purchased from the Missouri State Fair Business Office by August 10. Exhibitor tickets are not available at the gate.
General Admission Prices
Regular gate admission at the Missouri State fair includes:
- Single Day Adult: $12
- Seniors (60 and over): $8
- Kids Ages 6-12: $3
- Kids Age 5 and under: FREE

Missouri State Fair Carnival Tickets
The carnival midway opens by noon on weekdays and by 11 a.m. on weekends, weather permitting. The midway closes between 11 p.m. during the week and around midnight on weekends. Hours may change slightly based on weather and at the carnival company’s discretion.
Discounted Carnival Ride Wristbands
You can save some money if you buy unlimited ride wristbands in advance. There are two options sold through August 10.
- Advance Unlimited Ride Carnival Wristband – $24; includes unlimited carnival rides for one day. This is a savings up up to $11. Available for purchase online only. Be aware that this option does NOT include gate admission.
- Advance Unlimited Daily Deal – $34; includes unlimited carnival rides for one day AND adult or child admission. This deal is a savings up to $13. Available online or at participating Break Time Convenience Stores and Orscheln Farm & Home Stores.
Carnival Ride Tickets and Wristbands at the Fair
Tickets and unlimited ride wristbands are sold at the fairgrounds each day. Wristbands sold on the grounds are valid only on the day you buy them.
Regular Unlimited Carnival Ride Wristband
- $30 weekday (Monday-Thursday)
- $35 weekend (Friday-Sunday)
- $17 half price (Final Sunday)
Family Ticket Packs
- 4 tickets for $5
- 25 tickets for $25
- 55 tickets for $50 (includes a value book good for concession/game incentives/coupons – $30-$40 value)

- Sunday, Aug. 14 Military Coupon: $5 off unlimited carnival ride wristband for military & immediate family, purchased at the Fair, Aug 11 only, with coupon available at admission gate
- Monday, Aug. 15 Missouri Farm Bureau Coupon: $5 off unlimited carnival ride wristband, purchased at the Fair, Aug 12 only, with coupon from Missouri County Farm Bureau Offices
- Tuesday, Aug. 16: Ride most carnival rides all day for $2 with the minimum donation of two cans of food (benefits Feeding Missouri). Some rides may be excluded from this deal.
- Friday, Aug. 19 Rural Missouri Magazine Coupon: $5 off unlimited carnival ride wristband, purchased at the fair, Aug. 19 only, with coupon available in Rural Missouri Magazine.
Arena and Grandstand Events
The State Fair Arena is the site for many fair events, including the rodeo, bull riding, motor sports, truck and tractor pulls and the demolition derby. Some events will require tickets. Check here for details.

The Missouri State Fairgrounds are located at 2503 West 16th Street in Sedalia, Missouri.
General Public Parking: Parking is FREE in the general public parking lots. VIP parking spaces are available for $5 with proceeds going to the Missouri State Fair Foundation.
