Faulkner’s Ranch is a 25-acre ranch that combines food, entertainment and events for family-friendly fun in Kansas City.
The ranch comes alive for fall with the opening of the pumpkin patch in October.
Faulkner’s Ranch will be open for pumpkin season Oct. 1 – 30, 2020. Play area hours are from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Please know that the ranch is closing at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 (Halloween).
Faulkner’s Ranch & Pumpkin Farm Free Activities
Admission to Faulkner’s Ranch includes a ton of activities so once you’ve bought your ticket you can have fun without spending a lot more money. Here is what you can usually find to do on a daily basis.

On Saturdays and Sundays you can also enjoy a stagecoach bounce house with slide, pony bounce house and barrel train rides.
There are also optional attractions you can take part in for an additional cost for $5.50 each. These are available at select days and times so it’s a good idea to call ahead to confirm if there is something you really want to do.
- Pony Rides (ages 3-12, 100 pounds or less)
- Zipline (must be at least 3 years old, not more than 125 pounds)
- Corn Cannon (Saturday and Sundays only)
- Mechanical Bull (height requirement of 48 inches or taller)
Bring an appetite for fun and food. There are plenty of goodies for purchase including seasonal specialties like pumpkin spice donuts and apple cider donut sundae.
Faulkner’s Ranch & Pumpkin Farm Admission
For the 2020 season, Faulkner’s Ranch will only be selling tickets online. This will allow for timed session that keeps crowds at a safe size. .
Admission prices for 2020 are:
- Monday – Friday: $10
- Saturday Sunday: $15
- Kids 3 and under are FREE
Visitors 5 and older will need to wear a mask indoors and outdoors in situations where appropriate distancing can’t be maintained. You can review the ranch’s full lineup and health and safety procedures here.
There is no admission to shop for donuts or fall decor around the harvest barn. The farm market is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
All pumpkins are pre-picked and include mini pumpkins, pie pumpkins, deep orange ones with long stems for jack-o-lantern carving and lots more that are fun to decorate with. Straw bales, mums and corn stalks are also available.
Faulkner’s Ranch Special Events 2020
Opening Day: The 22nd pumpkin season kicks off at Faulkner’s Ranch on Oct. 1. The play area opens at 3 p.m.
Opening Weekend: On Oct. 3-4, enjoy live entertainment and music during the festivities of Faulkner’s Ranch first weekend of pumpkin season. Indulge in seasonal favorites of pumpkin spice donuts, apple cider slushies, pulled pork nachos and more.
Pumpkin Par-tay: The DJ Jack-O-Lantern cranks up tunes along with games and contests on Oct. 10-11. A wine night event is offered on Saturday for those 21+ from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets required.
Wild Western Weekend: A variety of live country bands from Kansas City are playing Oct. 24-25. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their cowboy and cowgirl gear of boots, hats, bandannas and flannels. Tickets are required for the hayride and bonfire event on Saturday evening.
Spirit of KC Weekend: Paint the ranch red by wearing your Kansas City Chiefs gear on Oct. 24-25. KC Wolf is making an appearance on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. The ranch is also collecting donations for the following organizations:
- Community Assistance Council: new or gently used hats, gloves, scarves, and coats.
- Pawsitive Tails Dog Rescue Foster and Adoptions: paper towels, sheets, gently used dog toys, leashes, and collars.
- Healing Chair: monetary donations (accepted at each register) to provide reclining lift chairs and support to mastectomy patients to aid in their recovery at home.
Halloween Egg Hunt: Wrap up pumpkin season with the annual Halloween Egg Hunt from noon to 2 p.m. on Oct. 31. Kids ages 3-12 can participate. Costumes are encouraged. Tickets are required.
Pups & Pumpkins: The ranch is hosting a dog friendly fall event on Sunday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bring your furry friends to enjoy pumpkin spice dog treats, interactive dog activities, photo ops and a dog costume contest with prizes at noon, 2 and 4 p.m.
