The Summit Art Member Show is bringing two days of local art and activities to to Downtown Lee’s Summit.
Presented in partnership with the Lee’s Summit Cultural Commission and the Green Street Art Market Series, this community celebration showcases original creations in multiple art media, plus provides art activities for kids. Admission is free to attend.
Saturday, October 10: Gallery Night Artist Reception & Sale
- Time: 5 to 7 p.m.
- Cost: Free admission; complimentary refreshments
Gallery Night provides a chance to mingle with local artists in a relaxed, intimate setting. Browse original paintings, fine art photography, pastels, drawings and mixed-media works. You can enjoy complimentary light refreshments, and a cash bar will be available with beverages provided by local favorite Embrace the Grape.
Sunday, October 11: All-Day Art Market & Free Family Activities
- Time: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Cost: Free admission; all children’s activities are free
Sunday is the main event and features a vibrant, family-friendly street market. If you’ve been looking for the perfect piece of original local art to liven up your home or to give as a gift, this is the place to find it.
Even if you aren’t planning to buy, there are plenty of free ways to stay entertained:
- Live Art Demonstrations: Watch artists at work during two live demonstrations, at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
- Children’s Art Activity: Let your little ones tap into their own creativity with free, interactive art crafts running throughout the entire day.
- Children’s Art Scavenger Hunt: Keep the kids engaged and moving with an entertaining art-themed scavenger hunt that runs all day long.
