Free Lenexa outdoor concerts

You can look forward to three different sets of free concerts this summer and fall in Lenexa.

Lenexa Community Orchestra

The Lenexa Community Orchestra, a program of the Lenexa Arts Council, is planning three free summer concerts:

• Saturday, June 27, 7 p.m. The program will include works by Beethoven, Brewer and Saint-Saens.
• Saturday, July 18, 7 p.m. The program will include works by Copland, Schnake and Sousa.
• Saturday, July 31, 7 p.m. The program will include works by Bizet, Lendt, Puccini and Verdi.

Those concerts will be at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, 12701 W. 67th St., Shawnee, KS, 66216. 

Friday Night Sound Bites

Friday Night Sound Bites brings together food truck and music in a family-friendly event at the Lenexa Public Market from May 29 through October 30, 2026. Concerts are held Fridays from 7 to 10 p.m. on the Lower Commons.

• Sept. 18: Pretty Vycious
• Sept. 25: Green Shoebox Band
• Oct. 2: Selekto Show (Empanada Fest)
• Oct. 9: Dating Sarah
• Oct. 16: Grand Villanova
• Oct. 23: Bound & Determined
• Oct. 30: Friday Night Sound Frights, with music by Cantaloupe City and a adult costume contest.

When: Fridays, 7 to 10 p.m., through Oct. 30.

Admission: Free

Parking: Free parking is available in the Lenexa Civic Campus parking garage at 17201 W. 87th St. Parkway, with additional public parking available in the Winchester Parking Garage.

Bring a lawn chair if you’d like additional seating. Food and beverages are available for purchase from Public Market vendors and rotating food trucks. Outside alcohol and coolers are not permitted.

Outdoor Concert Series

On Sundays during May, June, and September, 2017, the the Lenexa Arts Council and Parks and Recreation are holding an outdoor concert series in Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park. Admission is free.

The September concerts start at 5 p.m. Here’s the schedule:

• Sept. 20: Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra
• Sept. 27: The Kicks Band
• Oct. 4: KCJ07, an ensemble from the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra

These concerts will be at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park, 87th Street Parkway & Greenway Lane, Lenexa, KS, 66215.
