Starting April 12, 2016, Starbucks Rewards officially changes. Members now earn two stars for every $1 spent. If you have any stars in your account on April 12, they will be multiplied by 11 to adjust to the new program levels. (If it’s any benefit, Starbucks is giving members a slightly higher exchange rate, but not much.) In addition, rewards now expire six months after they’re earned. Previously, they expired in five weeks. (FYI – Birthday reward expires one day after your birthday.) Best of all, from April 12 to May 2, 2016, Green members will earn one year of Gold status with just one transaction. (If you already have Gold status, just one purchase will earn you another year of Gold status.) You must pay with the Starbucks app or registered Starbucks Card. (It’s a great offer, given you’d have to earn 300 stars to achieve Gold status — the equivalent of spending $150.)
