Chill out with Rita this spring! Every year, spring brings warm sunlight, cool breezes and this sweet and popular freebie from Rita’s. The shop is celebrating the first day of spring by giving customers a complimentary Italian Ice.
They’ve been hosting the giveaway for more than 30 years now. And, for many bargain hunters, it’s become an annual tradition in kicking off the start of the sunny season with a cool treat from Rita’s in hand.

Rita’s signature Italian Ice is made fresh daily on-site and available in a rotating daily selection from more than 80 flavors.
To celebrate the first day of spring, Rita’s is giving all customers a FREE cup of Italian Ice (6-oz.) in the flavor of their choice on March 20, 2025 at participating locations. Make it even sweeter by adding custard for an additional charge.
Plus, Rita’s is introducing a new flavor to coincide with the spring giveaway – SKITTLES Italian Ice. The shop is also adding SKITTLES POP’D freeze-dried candies to their toppings lineup this spring. Both will be available for a limited time starting March 17, 2025.
Rita’s is expected to give away approximately 1 million cups on the first day of spring!
Rita’s has more than 550 locations nationwide. Most locations are open from noon to 9 p.m. Hours may vary by location.
