The Kansas City institution known as McGonigle’s Market is closing. The store is slated to reopen under new ownership as Fareway Meat Market.
Owner Mike McGonigle has announced they are liquidating the store’s inventory to get ready for transition to the new owners. Items in the store are marked down up to 40% off, while supplies last. All sales are final.
In the store you’ll find a selection of meats (beef, chicken, seafood, pork, etc.), deli prepared foods, cheese, liquor, wine, produce and assorted grocery items. Discounts are marked on most items. The sale will continue until there is no more inventory.
According to their website, Fareway is family owned and operated which should help to keep the independent spirit of McGonigle’s alive. Fareway has agreed to continue to honor gift cards issued by McGonigle’s and the “Ribs for Kids” tokens from the annual fundraiser.
McGonigle’s Market is located at 1307 W 79th St, Kansas City, MO.
