KC Chiefs Watch Party Tips
The idea of having yourself a merry little Christmas isn’t just for the holidays. I’m a big believer in having fun, even if you’re the host. Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way of hosting various gatherings at our house.
Use a slow cooker. As a rule, if it needs to be kept warm, put it in a slow cooker. Being in and out of the kitchen pulling food out of the oven throughout the game is for the birds. Most models have a keep warm setting that you can default to and keep stuff from burning.
Use slow cooker liners. I can’t stress this one enough, especially if you’re making some kind of cheese dip. With this handy item my days of soaking and scrubbing scorched Rotel dip are long gone.
Have enough seats. Even if your home doesn’t have a luxurious TV-watching area, you can do fine by setting up some folding or camping chairs. If your crowd isn’t too old, consider throwing down a few floor pillows or soft blankets.
Go BYOB. Your cost really adds up when you try to have everyone’s favorite kind of adult beverage. Have some non-alcoholic options for everyone and call it good. Otherwise, make sure everyone knows they’re on their own for beer and liquor.
