Kansas City Veterans Day Discounts, Freebies and Events

Our veterans deserve so much more than a few discounts and freebies in November every year, but they should definitely take advantage of every ounce of thanks they’ve got coming! We’ve compiled a list of Kansas City Veterans Day discounts from 2022 to give you an idea of where to check first this November 11th.

We’ll be adding Veterans Day deals for 2023 as they come in, so check back often, but for now, here is a list of last year’s Veterans Day deals to give you an idea of what to expect in 2023.

Keep in mind that a lot of these are national deals that are only good at participating locations. You may want to call and confirm before making a special trip.

Most deals are good for veterans and active military personnel. To take advantage of them, you’ll need to show a valid military or veteran’s ID. The requirements will vary by restaurant/organization, so don’t forget to click on the links for more details and read the fine print.

Some restaurants and other businesses announce Veterans Day offers at the last minute, while others plan ahead. Read on to see what we’ve found so far for Veteran’s Day around Kansas City in 2022.

The following restaurants, coffee shops and bars are offering free meals, desserts and other savings in Kansas City for Veterans Day in 2022. Check back because we keep adding to this list up through November 11.

7-Eleven

This Veterans Day, 7-Eleven is offering a FREE Quarter-Pound Big Bite 100% all-beef hot dog in honor of veterans. The offer is available in-store and via delivery through the 7NOW app on November 11.

54th Street Grill & Bar

Veterans and active duty military receive $10 off any entrée at 54th Street Grill & Bar on Veterans Day – Friday, November 11. 

The offer is for dine-in only. Proof of military service is requested. 

Kansas City 54th Street Grill & Bar locations can be found in Blue Springs, Independence, Kansas City, MO (Creekwood Commons and Zona Rosa), Lee’s Summit, Liberty, Olathe and St. Joseph. 

Another Broken Egg Cafe

All veterans, active and retired military service members are invited to enjoy a FREE Patriot French Toast Combo and coffee at Another Broken Egg Cafe when dining in on Veterans Day. 

The offer is good at the Overland Park location for dine-in only, while supplies last. No purchase necessary. 

Applebee’s

For 15 years, Applebee’s has served more than 10 million meals on Veterans Day in honor of our nation’s heroes.

On November 11, veterans, active service members, reserves and National Guard can enjoy a FREE dine-in meal at Applebee’s from an exclusive menu. Military ID or photograph in uniform is needed. 

These special guests dining on November 11 will also receive a $5 bounce Back Card to redeem for dine-in, To Go or delivery within a three-week window. There is a limit of one card per party, per table, per visit.

The Veteran’s Day offer is available at participating locations in Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois (Greater STL Area), Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Washington and Wyoming.

Bamboo Penny’s

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Veterans Day is this Thursday and Bamboo Penny’s, a Thai restaurant in Leawood’s Park Place center, is honoring the day by offering all veterans and active military 50% off any lunch or dinner entrée when they show their military ID. Good for dine-in only on Nov. 11.

BIBIBOP Asian Grill

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: BIBIBOP Asian Grill is grateful for those who serve our country! This Veterans Day, the restaurant is providing a FREE bowl to every veteran and active military personnel when they visit any store nationwide. To claim their one FREE bowl, veterans and active military personnel can present a military ID or identify as a veteran/active military personnel. This offer is only valid in stores on November 11th, 2021. All BIBIBOP Asian Grill locations will be partaking in this promotion, including the ones around Kansas City. 

Bob Evans Restaurants

A FREE meal awaits veterans and active duty military members on Veterans Day at Bob Evans Restaurants. The chain is featuring a special menu with seven hearty selections to choose from.

Bonefish Grill

Honoring Veterans Day on November 11, Bonefish Grill is offering a FREE order of the restaurant’s Bang Bang Shrimp – crispy shrimp tossed in a signature creamy, spicy sauce – with a soft beverage to service members, veterans and first responders with show of ID.

Available all day on November 11, no purchase required. Year round, Bonefish Grill offers a 10% off Heroes Discount to service members, veterans and first responders.

Brew Lab + Kitchen

Brew Lab in Downtown Overland Park is offering a FREE beer to Veterans with the purchase of any entree or adult beverage. 

The offers is good on November 11. 

Buffalo State Pizza Co. & Bar – Crossroads

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Buffalo State Pizza Co. in the Crossroads District is offering all Veterans and active duty military a FREE slice of pizza on Veterans Day. Just show a proof of military ID or uniform.

Buffalo Wild Wings

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Veterans can just “wing it” on Veterans Day at Buffalo Wild Wings. The restaurant is offering all past and present armed services members a FREE order of 10 boneless wings and fries. The offer is available for dine-in or takeout. 

Callsign Brewing

Callsign Brewery in North Kansas City is treating all Veterans to $2 off all craft beers purchased on November 11. 

The local brewery is also making a special tribute with the release of “The Oath” India Pale Ale. 

Caribou Coffee

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Veterans and active military can stir things up on Veterans Day at Caribou Coffee. The Midwest-based coffee shop is pouring them a FREE small hot brewed coffee on Nov. 11. 

Casey’s

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Service members (both past and present) can get energized on Veterans Day at Casey’s. The convenience store is serving them a FREE small cup of coffee on Nov. 11.

Chili’s

Veterans and active duty military members heading to Chili’s on Veterans Day can enjoy a FREE entrée from a special menu featuring pasta, soup, salad, chicken and more.

Active-duty military and veterans receive a FREE personal pizza with one topping at Chuck E. Cheese. The offer promo code is #5970.

Cici’s Pizza

As a heartfelt thank you, Cici’s Pizza invites all Veterans and Active-Duty Military to enjoy a FREE buffet on Veterans Day. Tax and beverages are excluded.

The Veterans Day offer is only good for dine-in on November 1. Must present valid ID to confirm service.

All Circle K convenient stores that serve coffee will be thanking Veterans and active military for their service with a FREE medium coffee on Veterans Day.

Cracker Barrel

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Veterans can enjoy a sweet treat at Cracker Barrel on Nov. 11. The restaurants is serving them a FREE slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake with purchase on Veterans Day. The offer is available in-restaurant and online with promo code VETSDAY21.

This November, Denny’s gives back to our nation’s heroes with the continuation of a long-standing tradition: a FREE Grand Slams for all military personnel on Veterans Day.

Denny’s signature breakfast entrée – the Grand Slam – is one of the brand’s most popular offerings and includes two delicious and fluffy buttermilk pancakes, two bacon strips, two sausage links and two eggs cooked any way.

 The offer is valid for dine-in only at participating locations from opening time until noon with a valid military ID or DD 214.

Denny’s has numerous locations around Kansas City, including Independence, Merriam, Overland Park, Raytown and Kansas City, MO.

Dunkin’

Dunkin’ celebrates Veterans Day by showing its appreciation and support for those who truly keep America running. In a sweet salute to the brave members of the armed forces, on November 11, veterans and active duty military are invited to participating Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide for a FREE donut of their choice, no purchase necessary.

Einstein Bros. Bagels

On November 11, veterans can sip on a complimentary coffee at Einstein Bros. Bagels. The bagel shop is pouring them a FREE iced or hot coffee (any size) with any purchase on Veterans Day.

Fareway Meat Market

Fareway Meat Market expresses appreciation to all Veterans, active duty military, Reserve and National Guard service members with an in-store discount valid on November 11. 

To receive 15% off store purchases at the Olathe or Kansas City, MO locations, customers are asked to show their military ID at checkout or identify branch of service. Select items like tobacco, gift cards and lottery tickets are excluded. 

Fazoli’s

Veterans and active-duty military are served FREE regular spaghetti with meat or marinara sauce at Fazoli’s on November 10 and 11. 

Fazoli’s has local stores in Overland Park, Shawnee, Belton, Lee’s Summit, Independence, Blue Springs and Belton. 

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

Take your favorite Veteran or currently serving member of the military out for dinner at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Lee’s Summit or Overland Park. 

On Friday, November 11 Firebirds Wood Fired Grill has a BOGO FREE entrée special where your service member (current or former) eats for FREE. 

Fogo de Chão

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: On November 11 in honor of Veterans Day, Famous Dave’s is offering a free Georgia Chopped Pork Sandwich and side at all locations to all active and retired military personnel. The promotion will be available for Dine In and To Go orders. When ordering online, guests will choose the sandwich and enter the coupon code “VETERAN” at checkout on famousdaves.com/togo. Veterans must show valid proof of service at pickup.

Fox & Hound Bar + Grill

A FREE meal is offered for all veterans and active military members at the Fox and Hound Grill + Bar on November 11. Choose any entrée from a specially designated menu. 

Kansas City’s only Fox & Hound location is in Overland Park. 

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers

Here’s a Veterans Day deal that can be used on or beyond November 11.

The Wichita-based company is handing out vouchers for a FREE Freddy’s meal combo to all veterans and active duty military members when they stop by a location on Veterans Day. The voucher can be used anytime during the month of November 2022.

Freddy’s is found throughout Kansas City in Merriam, Raytown, Overland Park, Kansas City, MO, Kansas City, KS and Lenexa. 

Golden Corral

Golden Corral’s annual Military Appreciation Night event is back with a dine-in celebration on Monday, November 14 beginning at 5 pm.

Hen House Markets

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Veterans can stop by a local Hen House Market grocery store on Veterans Day (Nov. 11) and Nov. 12 to receive a FREE slice of Tippin’s pie. Just head to the bakery with some sort of veterans ID for the treat. Selection varies by store. 

Hooters

Active-duty and retired military will receive a FREE entrée from a select menu at Hooters on Veterans Day with the purchase of a beverage.

Heroes can choose from the following dishes: Buffalo Chicken Salad, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Hooters Burger or 10-Piece Boneless Wings.

HyVee 

In honor of Veterans Day, local Hy-Vee storesare hosting a FREE breakfast for Veterans, military members and their families from 6 to 10 a.m. on Friday, November 11.

Kolache Factory

Kolache Factory is offering FREE breakfast to not just Veterans but all military this Friday, November 11, 2022. All eligible personnel can show government-issued photo ID or DD 214 to enjoy one FREE kolache of any kind and one cup (any size) Katz coffee. This offer excludes croissants, Polish varieties and espresso drinks. 

The Veterans Day offer is good a Kolache Factory locations nationwide from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. In Kansas City, you’ll find Kolache Factory in Shawnee and Overland Park. 

Kona Grill

The FREE combo includes a 4-slice Detroit-Style DEEP!DEEP! Dish pizza and a 20-ounce Pepsi product. 

Little Caesar’s Pizza can be found in Kansas City on both sides of the state line. 

Logan’s Roadhouse

On November 11, Logan’s Roadhouse is inviting active and retired service members to enjoy a FREE meal on Veterans Day — from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

McDonald’s

This Veterans Day McDonald’s stores in the Kansas City, Lawrence and St. Joseph areas are offering FREE breakfast to all veterans, active duty military and military families as a small token of appreciation for their service to our country.

All former, active duty and military families can receive a FREE meal during breakfast hours on November 11. The breakfast includes a choice of an Egg McMuffin, Bacon Egg Cheese Biscuit or Sausage Biscuit. All options include an any size soft drink, tea or premium roast coffee, and a Hash Brown.⁠

Minsky’s Pizza

On Friday, November 11, 50% of all sales on Minsky’s Angus Burgers are donated to the E3 Ranch in Fort Scott, Kansas. E3 provides veterans with a place to rest and recharge with others who have served. 

Mr. Brews Taphouse

For Veterans Day, Orange Leaf is offering veterans and active military $2 off any item. Offer valid on Friday, November 11.

Panera Bread

 Show your military ID or wear your military form at a local participating Panera Bread restaurant on Friday, November 11 and receive a FREE pastry or bakery item and cup of coffee.

 Present a valid military ID on November 11 at local QuikTrip stores and get a FREE small self-serve ho drink or Big Q.

Perkins

Perkins Restaurant and Bakery is saluting members of the armed forces this Veterans Day with a complimentary meal. On November 11, active duty, retired military and veterans enjoy a FREE Magnificent Seven entrée. The meal includes two (2) eggs, two (2) Applewood smoked bacon strips and three (3) buttermilk pancakes.

Perkins Restaurant and Bakery has locations in Gladstone, Lee’s Summit, Independence and Gardner. 

Pilot/Flying J Travel Centers

All active-duty and retired military veterans can fly over to Pilot Flying J on Veterans Day for a meal on the house.

The travel center is offering them a FREE $12 meal credit via its app from November 11  through 13, only after they have been authenticated through a third-party service.

Pizza Ranch

Veterans and active duty military receive 50% off an adult buffet at Pizza Ranch. in Independence, MO. The offer is good at the Kansas City, MO and Independence, MO locations from Monday, November 7 – Friday, November 11. 

Diners may be asked to present military ID or proof of service to receive discount. 

PJ’s Coffee

For Veteran’s Day, PJ’s Coffee is offering veterans and active-duty military a FREE 12-oz. hot coffee or cold brew iced coffee on November 11.

Red Lobster

Veterans, active-duty military and reservists can enjoy a FREE Walt’s Favorite Shrimp meal from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 11.

Rock & Brews Restaurant

On Veterans Day, all veterans, active military members and first responders are invited to enjoy a FREE meal when dining in at Rock & Brews in Prairie Fire in Overland Park.

Choices include a strawberry fields salad or BBQ pulled pork sandwich. The offer is available all day on November 11 with valid ID or proof of service. 

Schlotzky’s 

November 11 to 30, Schlotzsky’s is offering FREE chips and a small drink with an entrée purchase (sandwich, salad, pizza, flatbread, calzone or pick 2) to veterans and active-duty service members. 

Locations in Kansas City include Overland Park, Olathe, Raymore, Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs. 

Smashburger

In honor of Veterans Day, Smashburger is offering all service members and veterans a FREE burger or sandwich Friday, November 11 at participating locations. This is an in-store promotion that is only valid with a Military ID. 

Fortunately for Veterans in Kansas City, the Olathe Smashburger is one of the participating locations.

Starbucks

Starbucks believes veterans and military spouses make our  communities stronger. They’re offering FREE hot or iced coffee in U.S. stores on November 11.

The deal is good for veterans, military members and their spouses. 

Taco Johns’s

Everyone can celebrate veterans at Taco John’s on November 11.

The fast-food Mexican restaurant is offering a FREE Small Beef Taco Combo Meal — two Crispy Beef Tacos, a beverage and choice of side.

To get the deal, enter promo code VETERAN22, under the “More” tab in the Taco John’s app. Customers must be a Bigger Better Rewards member and show QR code in-restaurant or apply offer to an in-app order.

Taco John’s locations are found in Olathe, Bonner Springs and Independence. 

Thai House Restaurant

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Show military ID when dining in at Thai House Restaurant on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to get 50% off any lunch or dinner entrée. The offer is good to any veterans or active-duty military.

Texas Roadhouse

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Texas Roadhouse will honor veterans and active military with a special “drive-up” giveaway on Veterans Day. On Nov. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the restaurant will distribute meal vouchers in the parking lot. The voucher is valid is through May 30, 2022 and can be redeemed for a FREE entrée from a select menu. The event is drive-thru only. However, vouchers can be redeemed, when the restaurant is open for dinner. 

Torchy’s Tacos

Veterans and active U.S. military members can spice up Veterans Day at Torchy’s Tacos. The fast-casual taco chain is offering any taco on the menu for FREE as well as their choice of a FREE fountain drink or iced tea.

The offer is only available for dine-in and pick-up orders placed by phone or in-person – online or deliver orders are excluded. Must present military ID or proof of service. 

Kansas City diners can enjoy Torchy’s in Overland Park, Olathe and Kansas City, MO. 

Travel Centers of America

Travel Centers of America continue its tradition of inviting all active-duty military, veterans and reservists to enjoy a FREE dine-in meal on Veterans Day November 11 at company-owned quick-service and full-service restaurants nationwide. Proof of military service needed to redeem the offer.

Travel Centers of America is also teaming up with Mobil Delvac to donate $50,000 to Folds of Honor for educational scholarships to children and spouses of fallen and disabled American military service members and first responders.

The chain is also launching a Round Up campaign. From November 1-30, 2022, guests at participating TA, Petro and TA Express locations have the opportunity to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar, with the difference being donated directly to Special Operators Transition Foundation. This group assists SOTF veterans with transition from military service to a new career. 

Twin Peaks Restaurant

For Veterans Day, Twin Peaks is offering a complimentary Veterans Day Lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Veterans enjoy a FREE meal from a select menu. 

Village Inn

Veterans and active military can enjoy a FREE 2-2-2 Breakfast anytime of day at Village Inn on November 11.

There is a local Village Inn at 5500 Broadmoor Street in Mission, KS. 

Wendy’s

The Wendy’s family consists of many veterans, including its very own founder, Dave Thomas, who was a veteran himself when he opened the first Wendy’s restaurant.

To thank all of those who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Military, the popular fast-food restaurant is offering them a FREE any size breakfast combo — during breakfast hours on November 11. Valid military ID or Veterans Advantage card needs to be presented when ordering.

2022 Kansas City Veterans Day Attractions & Service Discounts & Freebies

The following attractions, businesses and entertainment venues are offering deals and freebies on Veterans Day.

Kansas City West Bottoms Haunted Houses

Many brave souls make their way through Kansas City’s West Bottoms District of haunted attractions: The Beast, Edge of Hell, and Macabre Cinema throughout the Halloween season. For the final weekend, half-price admission is offered to everyone (all souls) as a salute to our nation’s U.S. veterans, healthcare workers and first responders. 

The Beast and Edge of Hell open on both nights at 7:30 p.m. Macabre Cinema opens for encore shows on both evenings at 8 p.m. 

Admission ranges from $17.50 up to $75 for a variety of options, including VIP entry and combo haunts. 

It’s recommended you get there before 10 p.m. because once the line goes through, these nationally acclaimed haunted houses in Kansas City close until next year.

Bed Bath & Beyond

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Vets can stock up on savings at Bed Bath & Beyond for Veterans Day. From Nov. 11 to 13, the popular big box retailer is hosting its “U.S. Armed Forces Appreciation Event” — save 25% on an entire purchase online or in-store. 

Dollar General

In honor of Veterans Day, Dollar General is offering an exclusive 20% in-store discount for four days (November 10 – 13, 2022) on qualifying, in-store purchases.

Eligible customers should first complete a military credential verification process online and then add the discount as a DG Digital Coupon.

The 2022 Veterans Day promotion joins an ongoing 11% discount to the military community and their families, which is offered the second Wednesday each month of the year.

Goodyear Auto Service

This Veterans Day season, Goodyear Auto Service invites the U.S. military and first responder communities to enjoy special discounts at locations in Kansas City and nationwide, as well as take advantage of the free car care checks currently being offered.

All active, former and retired military members and first responders are encouraged to take advantage of Goodyear’s FREE inspections on tires, brakes and batteries, and will receive an additional 10% off tires and services.

Eligible guests who present a valid ID can schedule car care check appointments between November 10-14, 2022 and redeem service through November 17, 2022.

Grace for Vets Car Wash

Grace for Vets is coordinating a FREE car wash for Veterans and military personnel on November 11.

Great Clips

This annual promotion gives FREE haircuts (normally priced around $20) to veterans and active military members, as well as a way for civilians to thank a military hero they know.

Kansas City Automotive Museum

All U.S. veterans get FREE admission to the Kansas City Automotive Museum on Friday, November 11. This is a savings of $8. 

The Kansas City Automotive Museum is open on Veterans Day (November 11) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Missouri State Parks

To show appreciation to all veterans and active-duty military members the Missouri State Parks program is offering two promotions for Veterans Day.

Camping: Eligible visitors camping at a Missouri State Parks campground on Friday, November 11, 2022, receive a voucher for a FREE night of camping. The veteran must be staying the night of Friday November 11, and show identification of veteran/active-duty military status at check-in to receive a free camping coupon. Missouri State Parks will accept several types of identification.

Tours: Veterans and active military members are also invited on free tours of Missouri state historic sites Friday, November 11 – 13, 2022 with valid identification. Check mostateparks.com for a list of sites and current hours. 

National Parks

National Parks: Veterans Day, November 11, is the last of the Free Entrance Days at National Parks throughout the country for 2022.

The FREE admission deal is not limited to veterans; the National Park Service invites all visitors to remember our veterans by visiting any National Park Service site for free on Veterans Day.

Olathe Community Center

While many Olathe city facilities are closed on Veterans Day, the Olathe Community Center is open for regular business hours November 11. Military personnel are welcome to visit the Community Center FREE with ID.

Pharaoh Cinema 4

For four decades, the Pharaoh Cinema 4 in Independence has offered big screen entertainment. On Friday, November 11, veterans and active duty military get FREE admission to a movie as thanks for their service to our country. 

Just present military ID at the box office to claim this Veterans Day offer. 

Regal Cinemas

No deal confirmed yet for 2022. From 2021: Everyone can honor Veterans Day by seeing one of the most critically-acclaimed military movies in recent years, American Sniper, on Nov. 11 at Regal Cinemas. The film shows at select theaters. Get tickets for just $5, as well as $5 combo (small popcorn & small soft drink) — open to all Regal Crown Club members. 

Sport Clips

Sport Clips is doing double duty to support our nations heroes on Veterans Day in 2022. 

Veterans and active duty military members can come in for a FREE haircut at any participating location. The chain will also donate $2 for every haircut service provided on that day.

In appreciation for their service, Target is offering veterans and active military 10% off two separate purchases made from October 30 to November 12, 2022.

To receive the offer, you must sign into your Target Circle account, verify military status and apply the offer before checking out in stores or online. Certain exclusions apply on purchases. 

Walgreen’s

To celebrate the service and commitment of the nation’s military and honor the men and women who serve the country, Walgreens offers a four-day in-store discount to all veterans and active duty military personnel as well as their family members.

On Friday, November 11 through Monday, November 14, veterans, military and their families receive 20% off regular price eligible store items at any Walgreens  drugstore nationwide. A myWalgreens membership is requred.

Some items, including alcohol, newspapers, etc. are excluded from the offer. Ask in store for specifics. 

Westlake ACE Hardware

Westlake ACE Hardware stores offers a single complimentary knife sharpening with ReSharp November 10 – 13 in stores. Just present military ID or documentation for the freebie. 

Limit one per customer. Blades must be 2.5″ or longer with no serrations, waves or scalloped blades. Check with store associates for more details. 

World War I Museum & Memorial

Veterans Day Weekend (November 11-13) is a prime time to visit the World War I Museum and Memorial in downtown Kansas City.

World War I Museum & Memorial Veterans Day Weekend Activities
