The Kansas City Chihuahua Parade will take place this Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Barney Allis Plaza. The parade is free for spectators. There’s a $5 entry fee for dogs.
The parade is an attempt to break The Guinness Book of World Records for “Most Dogs In Costume” and to make Kansas City a No-Kill Community. The $5 entry fee per dog all goes to The Great Plains SPCA.
Dogs of all breeds are welcome to participate, but they must be in costume. Registration is also required. The first 275 costumed dogs in the parade will receive a free $12 Protected Wildlife Dog Toy donated by Sergeants Pet Products.
The parade starts at 1:00 p.m. Participants should arrive by 11:30 a.m. After the parade, there will be awards and a free concert by Valentine and the Ticklers.
