Celebrate the shortest day of the year on George Owen Nature Center’s annual Winter Solstice Torch Lit Hike this Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Admission is FREE.
The forest trail will be lit by torches for you to see ice sculptures, live owls and raptors, and a trail of snowmen. Telescopes will be available to view the gorgeous night sky.
The first 175 hikers will receive a FREE travel mug. Hot cocoa will be provided by the bonfire. Don’t forget to bundle up!
The Winter Solstice hike is from 5-6:30 p.m.
George Owens Nature Center is located at 1601 South Speck Road in Independence, Missouri.
