Overland Park residents can get a thrifty start on beautifying their yards with FREE tree and shrub seedlings being given out Saturday, April 2.

In recognition of Arbor Day, the City of Overland Park and Legacy of Greenery Committee have joined together to give out FREE tree and shrub seedlings at three different locations. These include:
- Thompson Park, 8045 Santa Fe Drive
- Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, 11902 Lowell
- Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, 8909 W. 179th Street
The event happens from 9 a.m. to noon (or until supplies last).
There is a limit of three per family. Overland Park residents can choose from the following:
Trees: black cherry, chinkapin oak, persimmon, pawpaw, aborvitae, and redbud.
Shrubs: buttonbush, lilac, currant, spicebush, and ninebark.
