It’s time to plant your flower beds and gardens again. Did you know you can borrow the seeds to get you started? The Seed Library at the Ruiz Branch of the Kansas City Public Library will lend you a variety of free flower, vegetable, and herb seeds to its patrons.
This is how it works:
- Choose your seeds.
- Check them out using your KC Public Library Card.
- Plant and grow your seeds at home.
- Harvest and return your seeds from the propagated plants at the end of the season to share with your fellow community members.
The Seed Library has a large selection of gardening and cookbooks. It also offers resources and classes to gardeners of all skill levels.
The Irene H. Ruiz Library is located in the Westside at 2107 West Pennway Street in Kansas City, Missouri.
