On Sundays during the months of May, June, and September, 2017, the the Lenexa Arts Council and Parks and Recreation are holding an outdoor concert series in either Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park or the Lenexa Civic Campus. Admission is free.
The May and June concerts start at 6:00 p.m. The September concerts start at 5 p.m. Here’s the schedule:
- May 7: Shawnee Mission West Strings and Shawnee Mission Northwest Jazz, 6 p.m., Lions Shelter, Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park
- May 21: Starhaven Rounders (traditional country), 6 p.m., Lions Shelter, Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park
- May 28: Crown Jazz Band (traditional New Orleans jazz), 6 p.m., Lions Shelter, Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park
- June 4: 3 Bricks Shy (mix of acoustic rock, country, pop, folk, blues, jazz), 6 p.m. Lions Shelter, Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park
- June 11: Alferd Packer Memorial String Band, (old time string band with augmentations), 6 p.m., Lions Shelter, Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park
- September 17: Knock Kneed Sally (original bluesy Americana), 5 p.m., Lenexa civic campus (87th Street Parkway and Penrose Lane)
- September 24: Abbey Road (Beatles tribute band), 5 p.m., Lenexa civic campus (87th Street Parkway and Penrose Lane)
