Take the kids to visit Penguin Park! It’s a fun park that gets them up and moving their bodies, while also allowing them to view some pretty cool things. There are, of course, no real penguins, but there are some cool statues to see and lots of play equipment.
Did you know that the large penguin at Penguin Park was created in 1965? Once the large penguin was placed in the Lakewood Greenery area, it became an absolute hit from then on.
That launched the creation of other animals to be in the same area, which included an elephant, kangaroo, and giraffe.
Penguin Park was nicknamed by the locals, but it officially received its name change in December 1998.
Plan on spending a day of FREE outdoor fun with the park equipment, and the 23-foot penguin on site. There is also a large kangaroo slide.
