This Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the YMCA of Greater Kansas City will be hosting a Family Fun Day at the new Fred and Shirley Pryor YMCA Challenger Sports Complex. Admission is free.
The sports complex is designed for young athletes with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities, and includes the only all-accessible fields in the Kansas City area. However, the Family Fun day is intended for everyone, not just for kids with special needs.
This event includes short YMCA Challenger baseball games for kids with special needs (at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.), games, a moonwalk, face painting, an obstacle course, resource booths, prizes, Radio Disney, food vendors, and appearances by Luke Hochevar (pitcher for the Kansas City Royals) and Royals mascot Sluggerrr.
The Fred and Shirley Pryor YMCA Challenger Sports Complex is located at 2100 NW 87th Terrace in Kansas City, Missouri (near 152 Highway and Platte Purchase Road).
