The Kansas City, Kansas Public Library is hosting a FREE Estate Planning seminar designed to help participants understand the ins and outs of how to best leave behind their assets and avoid probate court. The educational workshop will include a one-hour discussion followed by questions and answers with an estate planning attorney.
The workshop is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30 at the West Wyandotte Library. Pizza will be served to attendees. Registration is required and can be done online.
Topics to be covered in the seminar include:
An overview of probate court.
Costly mistakes to avoid in estate planning.
Ways to ensure an inheritance is not wasted or lost.
Making sure your money assets are kept in the family.
The impact of recent estate tax law changes, especially as it relates to a trust.
