McDonald’s is now making up its own holidays.
That’s okay because in honor of National Egg McMuffin Day on Monday, March 2, McDonald’s is giving away a FREE Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwich as participating locations nationwide.
To get your FREE Egg McMuffin, you’ll need to download McDonald’s mobile app and redeem the offer with a digital coupon sometime between 6 and 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2. Even if you’re not a morning person that’s something worth getting up for.
According to McDonald’s press release, the Egg McMuffin the first quick service restaurant breakfast sandwich when it was introduced in 1971. Santa Barbara McDonald’s owner and operator, Herb Peterson, created the iconic menu items when he was really trying to make promote Eggs Benedict. He is also credited with creating the Teflon rings to give the eggs their perfectly rounded shape – a tool that has inspired other brands around the world.
Be festive and celebrate this made-up holiday at a McDonald’s near you. Because some national chain deals vary with local franchises, it’s a good idea to check with your local restaurant before you head over.
