During the month of April 2011, Goodwill Industries is kicking off a “Ton of E-Waste Initiative” in connection with Earth Day. Between now and the end of April, you can drop off any used computer, monitor, keyboard, scanner, copier, or television set at any Kansas City area Goodwill store for free.
According to the Goodwill Web site, their staff will disassemble the equipment and sort the various components for recycling. Computer memory will also be wiped clean.
Anyone who donates a computer, monitor, printer, keyboard, or scanner will also be eligible to win a free trip to Mexico. Take any of these items to your local Goodwill and they’ll give you a coded ticket you can use to enter the drawing.
