These FREE, creative summer day camp sessions always fill up very quickly, so if you want to sign your kids up, do it quickly.
Kansas City area Apple stores are holding some FREE Apple Camps this summer for kids ages 8-12. During the three-day programs, the kids will learn how to use Apple products to showcase their creativity by making movies, composing songs, designing landscapes and coding and programming robots.
Both Kansas City Apple stores are offering sessions on various days from July 9 through July 26. Camps are FREE but you need to sign up online. Devices will be provided. Local Apple stores are located at:

Creating Your Own Song with GarageBand
Kids will learn rhythm basics, how to create beats and experiment with Smart Instruments to build their own songs using GarageBand for iPad. Songs will be shared with the group on the final day.
Designing Your Dream Park with iPad
Kids will head out for a short walk for inspiration to imagine a park for their community. They’ll use the Procreate app using iPad with Apple Pencil to sketch their ideas. Park designs will be shared with the group on the final day.
Coding Fundamentals and Programming Robots
Campers will learn coding fundamentals and use blocks of code to create a program using the Sphero Edu app for iPad. On the final day, kids will tell their own story using programmed lights, sounds and animations.
Directing Your Own Movie with Clips and iMovie
Kids discover how to create fun video footage using iPad. They’ll start with fundamentals of moviemaking like experimenting with camera shots in the Clips app and drawing ideas on storyboards in Keynote. On the final day, campers use their learning to create their own movie trailer with iMovie.
