The Kansas City Family Reunion Festival, a city-wide “event celebrating the enduring strengths, traditional values and Kansas City roots of families of all ethnicities,” wil be held this Friday through Sunday, August 5-7, 2011, in various venues throughout Kansas City.
Here are some of the activities:
Friday, August 5:
- 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. — Free live music, vendors, exhibits, health screenings, and more at the Guadalupe Center
- 8:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. — Live music featuring The Wild Men of Kansas City “Celebrating Louis Armstrong’s 110th Birthday” at The Blue Room ($10)
Saturday, August 6:
- Reunion Festival Concert at 40 Acres and a Mule Activies Campus ($10 in advance, $15 at the gate)
Sunday, August 7:
- 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. — Festival Cool Down in the Power & Light District
