Kansas City Parks and Recreation is hosting all kinds of Christmas fun throughout December:
- December 4 – Rudolf and Frosty visit Penguin Park. Free live music and hot chocolate
- December 5 – Santa arrives at Penguin Park. More live music and hot chocolate.
- December 5 – Visit with St. Nicholas, ride in a sleigh and tour historic buildings ($5)
- December 5 – Holidazzle, a tree lighting celebration with crafts, storytelling and refreshments
- December 12 – Santa arrives at Swope Park
- December 13 – Santa visits with pets
- December 19 – Skate with Santa ($5)
