I haven’t figured out exactly what this is. My best guess is that it’s a combination of free entertainment and a sales pitch to get people to come to Folklorama in Winnipeg in August. The August event is a two-week multicultural festival. This Friday, February 19, 2010, Folklorama will be at the Marriott Downtown (200 West 12th Street). Their website says they’re “bringing together six of our top world-class performing groups to present an extravaganza designed to demonstrate why Winnipeg is the place to be in August.” Admission is free. The show starts at 5:30 p.m.
