The Culinary Center of Kansas City’s (CCKC) Midwest Barbecue Institute is kicking off National Barbecue Month with their 3rd Annual Festival of Smoke. The festival will be held this Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Overland Park Clock Tower and at the Culinary Center. Admission is free.
This event, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. includes free cooking demonstrations, live music, barbecue tastings, a “make Your Own Rub” interactive station, giveaways, a bake sale, food and drinks for purchase, and more.
You’ll also get to vote for the chef with the best butt (ummm, pork butt that is) during the CCKC PIG-OFF competition.
The Culinary Center of Kansas City is located at 7920 Sante Fe Drive in Overland Park, Kansas.
