Once upon a time, the only food you could get delivered was pizza and (maybe) Chinese. With the introduction of third-party delivery services like Door Dash and Grub Hub, choices expanded, and the world became a hungry homebody’s oyster – or burger, Thai entree, sub sandwich, taco, gyro, fried chicken or even vegan cuisine.
Current events have led many Kansas City restaurants, breweries, wineries and distilleries to adapt and offer delivery or curbside carryout. The best way to figure out who is offering what is to check out Curbside KC. This local database of sorts was developed by Open Belly Podcast and has more than 1,000 restaurants listed. CurbsideKC even lets you sort your options by food, liquor, cuisine, location, etc.
If you’re ordering alcohol – and you should because drinks are good and our local brewers and distillers need our support along with restaurants – it can sometimes be a little tricky. Some places can’t take alcohol orders online so you’ll need to call. Lots of places can’t deliver booze, but you can be darned sure they’re willing to bring some out to your car if you pull up to their curb. If you’re not sure, call and ask. Someone will be glad to help you.
We realize some of these dining and drinking options are outside the realm of our frugal nature, but you may feel like treating yourself. Plus, you’ll be supporting local restaurants and their employees at time when they really need it.

Burger King: Get FREE delivery on orders of $10 or more via Grubhub — from March 13 to 29. Also, get FREE delivery on first-time Burger King order of $15 or more via DoorDash — through April 14. Finally, get two FREE kids’ meals with any purchase via its app, from March 23 to April 6.
Chipotle: Order at least $10 and get FREE delivery from March 15 to 31.
The Cheesecake Factory – Get a FREE slice of cheesecake, when you order online for pickup or Curbside To-Go with promo code FREESLICE — from March 16 to April 16.
Cinnabon – Get FREE delivery on orders of $15 or more via DoorDash — from March 18 to 31.
Denny’s: Denny’s is waiving all delivery fees until April 12. This FREE delivery service is available ordering online at dennys.com.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit: FREE delivery is extended through April 30.
Dolce Bakery: This Prairie Village bakery is happy to take your order by phone (913-236-4411) and then bring it out to your car. They are also now making deliveries to Prairie Village, Leawood, Overland Park, Roeland Park, KANSAS and Plaza, Brookside, Waldo, South Kansas City, MO.
Domino’s: No matter how you slice it, this is a great deal. Pizza prices are slashed in half through March 22.
IHOP – Get 20% off your first online order with promo code IHOP20.
KFC: GrubHub will provide FREE delivery for order of $12+ for orders placed March 14 to April 26.
Limitless Brewing: The taproom for this Lenexa-based brewery may be shut down but the beer still flows. Limitless Brewing is offering to-go sales. Just order through Facebook messenger, email emily@limitlessbrewing.com or call/text 913-526-3258. They’ll even bring your order out to your car if you like. Limitless Brewing also has gift cards available.
Little Caesar’s: Your pizza! pizza! is delivered for FREE on orders of $10 or more from March 16-22. There is a limit of one FREE delivery per person, per day.
Maggiano’s Little Italy – Get FREE delivery on orders of $15 or more via DoorDash — from March 20 to April 16.
Maloney’s Sports Bar & Grill: Curbside carryout orders will be accepted daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through April 1. Maloney’s full menu will be available every day. Orders can be made and prepaid by phone 913-385-9595. The Kansas City on the Cheap team recommends the dueling tots appetizer with homemade smoked cheddar and espinaca sauces. Get the sauces on the side so your last tot is as crispy as the first one you pop in your mouth.
